HR Generalist
Summary: Our client, a leading retailer of premium home furnishings, is seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented, and organized Human Resources Manager to join their team at our upholstery manufacturing facility. In this pivotal role, the HR Manager will serve as a strategic business partner, driving organizational effectiveness and supporting the company's financial and strategic objectives by managing human resources efficiently.
Location: Conover, NC
Compensation: $60,000 to 70,000
Schedule: Monday to Friday (8-5)
Responsibilities:
- Associate & Management Support: Responds to assistance requests and advises on leave, benefits, and policies.
- Compliance & Updates: Stays current on employment and payroll laws, ensuring compliance.
- Employee Relations: Develops practices to foster positive relationships and manages sensitive matters with confidentiality.
- Judgment & Reporting: Uses discretion in issue handling and escalates matters to HR Manager as needed.
- HR Operations Support: Completes wage verifications, enrolls new hires in benefits, processes benefit changes, and maintains attendance.
- Record-Keeping: Updates associate records and directories, tracks training, and manages electronic files.
- Event & Communication Management: Organizes associate events, updates employee communication boards, and ensures timely communication.
- HR Administration: Assists with Workers' Compensation, handles terminations, and supports Employee Relations with the HR Manager.
- Other Duties: Completes additional tasks as directed by the Manager.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of HR experience in manufacturing
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF
- Skilled in managing tasks with urgency and adapting to critical deadlines
- Capable of handling confidential information per regulations
- Experience with documentation, reporting, meeting leadership, and presentations
